"SE QUESTO SCORRERE NON FOSSE IMPLACABILE" is an artistic exploration of the theme of gender violence through 3 conceptual levels representing the inexorable(?) flow of time and women's lives.

The work invites reflection on the physical and invisible violence perpetrated every day within family environments, the superficial glorification of women, and the media treatment of feminicide as disposable viral content.

The first level, the upper one, represents the life of the contemporary woman, the exaltation, the veneration to which she is only superficially subjected every day.In the middle level, a drop of liquid is released every 6 minutes, the average frequency of feminicides in the world in 2022 (UN data). The transparent liquid is a reminder of the invisible violences, perpetrated in the everyday, too often considered less relevant, but which are the basis of patriarchal culture. In the last level, the lower one, the drop turns into smoke and then disappears, symbolizing the short period of time in which, after the feminicide, the topic of gender-based violence is talked about in the medias.

Framing with a smartphone the print with the title of the work on the floor an Augmented Reality video reveals the data on feminicides in Italy in 2024 (data from Non Una di Meno National Observatory). In front of the work, an audio station allows one to listen to a pleasant and familiar melody on headphones, in stark contrast to the raw meaning of the installation, but also representing the environment of normality and everyday life in which much of the violence is perpetuated. The work is intended to be an instrument of denunciation and awareness raising, moving away from the usual codes, in order not to reiterate the victim-blaming communication of gender violence, but on the contrary to emphasize how familiar, pleasant, everyday situations of a relationship often conceal invisible violence.
