Mexico Art Week 2026
2026 | InSpace Mexico, Mexico City | Immersive Installation
Invisible Ecologies was selected and presented at InSpace Mexico during Mexico Art Week 2026, on view from 4–8 February 2026. For this occasion, the work was reconfigured as a site-specific adaptation of the installation originally produced in Florence, transforming the project into an immersive 360-degree environment built around a continuous LED wall.
Within this new spatial configuration, the installation unfolds as a single-channel multimedia narrative exploring the relationship between ecosystems and human presence through the lens of the Arno River. Scientific datasets, environmental records, and historical hydrological archives become the generative structure of the work, shaping a visual dramaturgy that reflects the rhythms, tensions, and transformations of the river over time. The piece invites viewers to perceive the river not only as a geographic entity but as a living system whose equilibrium depends on collective attention, scientific research, and long-term environmental stewardship.
Developed through TouchDesigner and supported by generative AI models, the visual composition translates environmental data into evolving particle systems, abstract flows, and dynamic fields of color and light. These elements generate an immersive sensory landscape in which ecological processes become perceptible as movement, density, and atmosphere.
The Mexico presentation expands the original conceptual framework of the project - first developed in Florence around hydrometric data of the Arno River - into a spatial narrative that surrounds the audience and emphasizes the interconnectedness between scientific observation, technological mediation, and environmental awareness.
