Bright Festival 2026
2026 | Stazione Leopolda, Firenze | Immersive Installation
Invisible Ecologies was selected and presented at Bright Festival in April 2026, joining one of Italy's most relevant platforms dedicated to digital art, immersive installations, and audiovisual research. For this edition, the work was reconfigured as a site-specific adaptation conceived ad hoc for the festival, taking shape as a large-scale immersive projection spanning eight meters in total width through two projectors.
Within this new spatial configuration, the installation unfolds as a two-channel multimedia narrative exploring the relationship between ecosystems and human presence through the lens of the Arno River. Scientific datasets, environmental records, and historical hydrological archives become the generative structure of the work, shaping a visual dramaturgy that reflects the rhythms, tensions, and transformations of the river over time. The piece invites viewers to perceive the river as a living system whose equilibrium depends on collective attention, scientific research, and long-term environmental stewardship.
Developed through TouchDesigner and supported by generative AI models, the visual composition translates environmental data into evolving particle systems, abstract flows, and dynamic fields of color and light. These elements generate an immersive sensory landscape in which ecological processes become perceptible as movement, density, and atmosphere.
The Bright Festival presentation expands the trajectory of the project across new exhibition formats, following the original production in Florence and the 360-degree adaptation realized for Mexico Art Week 2026. The eight-meter projection developed for this edition introduces a new immersive scale for the work, allowing the audiovisual flow to envelop the audience through an expanded horizontal field and reinforcing the project's identity as a modular and evolving artistic system designed to adapt to diverse spatial and technological environments.
